CALL TO ACTION>>
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an invitation for all of life to be redeemed and transformed. This encompasses also the redemption and the transformation of the neighborhoods, businesses, and institutions where people live and work. As cities become more globalized, cultures more diverse, and realities more complicated, the Church of Columbus is strategically positioned for the business of evangelism where we live. With a visible expression of oneness, together we can demonstrate a faithful Gospel community and a common commitment for the flourishing peace of the city. (Acts 2:47)
A Christ-centered, church-driven, disciple-led, city-reaching, and kingdom-realizing vision for our common action will require a Gospel approach that builds within a framework of:
1. COVENANT AND COMMUNICATION
More than simply occupying the same space, the church has the opportunity for a deeper level of commitment to one another strengthened by ongoing contact.
2. COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION
True impact will be the result of shared ministry and where spiritual, intellectual, human, material, and legacy resources can be leveraged for the common good.
The City of Columbus will experience unprecedented growth within the next few decades, adding one million to our population by 2050 and placing great strain on all our infrastructures (1).
With an estimated 1.4 million individuals without Christ in the central Ohio area and the equivalent of an OSU stadium full of people leaving the church every four years (2), there is great urgency.
STATE OF THE CHURCH
STATE OF THE CITY
Leadership increasingly affirms the need for effective large-scale collaboration among Christ followers in our city.
What could a unified and strategic citywide Gospel movement look like?

As the church gathers to address this tremendous opportunity, a better understanding of the state of the church and our culture will serve to inform our citywide gospel action. In partnership with our Senior Fellow, Adam Ward, we offer the following resources to better inform our strategy moving forward.
